Gladys I. North

1930-2008

Monson-Gladys I. (Bridges) North, 78, of Wilbraham Road, died Tuesday, September 9, 2008, at Palmer Healthcare Center. Born in Boston to the late Archibald and Mary (Joudrie) Bridges she has been a Monson resident since the 1950’s. Gladys worked at Monson High School in the cafeteria for many years. She was a member of the First Church of Monson, Congregational and a member of the Hearts Willing at First Church. Gladys enjoyed gardening, traveling and camping. She also attended the Monson Senior Center. She was predeceased by her husband Daniel R. North in 1996; a brother Paul Bridges and sister Margie Moore also predecease her. She leaves two sons Randall C. North and his wife Charlene of Brandon, VT, and Kent D. North of Brimfield; two daughters Lori Lovell and her husband George of Goshen, VT and Wendy North of Monson; one brother Benny Bridges of Granby, MA and two sisters Trudy Lowe of Quincy and Barbara Potter of Hampden and grandchildren Daniel Lovell and his fiancée Lucy Bedard, Annette Lovell and her fiancé Brian Lamica, Rebecca Lovell and David North. Funeral services will be held Friday September 12, 2008 at 10am in Lombard Funeral Home 3 Bridge St. with burial at Hillside Cemetery both in Monson. Visiting hours will be held Thursday evening September 11, 2008 from 6-8 in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Palmer Healthcare Center 250 Shearer St. Palmer, MA 01069 or to Hospice Services of Western MA 540 Meadow St., Suite 104, Agawam, MA 01001.
