GARRY A. GOUDREAU
1957 – 2020
WESTFIELD- Garry Goudreau, 62, a resident here and formerly of Holyoke died on March 8, 2020 at Mercy Medical Center after a long illness. He was born in Holyoke on March 26, 1957 a son of the late Robert and Esther (Pelletier) Goudreau and was a graduate of Holyoke Trade School.
Garry was a former Holyoke Police Officer serving the community from 1980-1990 as a patrolman. He then owned and operated Quality Construction for many years. He attained his electricians license and worked for Blanchard & Daly Electric of Southampton. Most recently, he worked at Baystate Medical Center as a transportation & parking manager for close to 30 years, retiring due to illness in 2017.
Garry was an avid Red Sox fan and Disney fanatic. He was always working with wood, helping a neighbor or friend with a home project and enjoyed working on automobiles.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Pamela M. (Benoit) Goudreau of Westfield; his daughter, Jessica Goudreau of Feeding Hills; his granddaughter, Savannah “Binky” Goudreau of Westfield, MA; a sister, Esther Montgomery and her husband Richard of Chicopee, MA; a brother, Roger Goudreau and his wife Lisa of Southampton, MA; his brother Richard Dominguez of Bartlett, Texas.
He also leaves his nieces and nephews: Kyle Goudreau, Gabrielle Goudreau, Cooper Goudreau, Thomas Langille, Steven Langille, Richard Montgomery and Nate Byrne of Ludlow. Garry also leaves many cousins, colleagues and friends to remember him. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, March 16, 2020 at 11AM in Our Lady of the Cross Church, Holyoke. The burial will follow in Precious Blood Cemetery, South Hadley.
