Fisk H. Bacon, Jr. (Bake), formerly of Monson, MA, died peacefully at the age of 92 surrounded by family on Saturday, September 3, 2022 in Port Charlotte, FL.
He was born in Palmer, MA on April 28, 1930 to the late Fisk H. Bacon, Sr. and Ada (Matros) Bacon. Fisk grew up in Monson, graduating from Monson High School in 1948 and did a post graduate year at Monson Academy in 1949. He was a member of the semipro baseball team, Monson Merchants. He also had a try out with the NY Yankees organization, making it to the final cut. He was a licensed electrician working for CF Church Company and Friendly Ice Cream Corp. He also worked for the Town of Monson School Dept and covered the local Monson news for the Springfield Newspaper.
Fisk served for 13 years in the National Guard out of Ware, MA.
He was a founding member and inductee in the Monson High School Sports Hall of Fame. He was an avid fan of the Boston sports teams and loved watching his children and grandchildren play sports.
He was predeceased by his wife of 58 years, Joan (Heintz) Bacon, in 2011. He is survived by his children, Fisk H. Bacon III (Jana), Denise Beaupre (Peter), Karren Kusek (Steven) and Matthew Bacon (Michelle Aucoin); grandchildren Carrie, Peter, Steven, Erica, Michael, Tiffany, Courtney and Emily; and great grandchildren Madison, Logan, Colin, Jake, Avery and Cameron.
The family would like to thank his former daughter-in-law, Debbie Bacon, for all the companionship and help that she provided while he lived in Monson.
