Esther I. (Nocross) Taylor, died Friday, October 15, 2010. Born in Wales, February 10, 1916 to the late Andrew and Clara (McClosky) Nocross, she was a lifelong resident of Wales. Esther was a finisher at the B.Schwanda Company, button shop, in Staffordville, CT for many years. She was also a waitress at the Public House in Sturbridge. She attended the Wales Baptist Church and was a Sunday School teacher for many years. She was a member of the Wales Democratic Town Committee, Board of Public Welfare, Board of Registrars and an American Red Cross Volunteer.
Esther was pre deceased by her husband Alison George Taylor in 1986. She leaves a daughter Judith Bourque of Wales; twelve grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, nine great great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews including Mary Agustine-Riggie of Monson. Esther was also predeceased by her son Charles A. Taylor; her siblings; Henry, Charles Francis, George, Edna Augustine, Mary Bradway, Irene Nocross and a grandson Ron Bourque Jr.
A graveside service will be held Saturday October 23, 2010 at 1pm at Wales #4 Cemetery located on Laurel Hill Road in Wales. A celebration of Esther's life will immediately follow at the Wales Irish Pub. Lombard Funeral Home of Monson has been entrusted with Esther's care and funeral arrangements.
