1933-2008
Monson-Elizabeth C. Royce, 74, of Moulton Hill Road, died Saturday May 24, 2008 at Wing Memorial Hospital in Palmer. Born in Acworth, NH to the late Julius and Lillian (Kemp) Pitkin, she has lived in Monson for more than 50 years. She was a member of the Monson Unitarian Universalist Parish and the Monson Senior Center. For the last twelve years she and her husband Gordon wintered in Lake Placid, Florida where they were members of the Lake Placid Tourist Club. Elizabeth leaves her husband of 52 years, Gordon C. Royce; two sons Gary Royce of Monson, Duane Royce and his wife Laura of Burlington, CT; a daughter Linda Drouin and her husband Gilbert of Monson; a sister Rachel Ames of Somers, CT; three grandchildren Danielle Cook and her husband Wayne, Andrew and Christine Drouin and great grandchildren Kylie and Jaclyn and several nieces and nephews. Elizabeth was predeceased by six siblings. A Memorial service will be held Saturday May 31, 2008 at 11am in the Unitarian Universalist Church of Monson, 177 Main St. Monson. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made to the Monson Senior Center Main St. Monson or to the Unitarian Universalist Church of Monson.
