Monson-Elizabeth Harrison, Ph.D., died Thursday, October 9, 2014 in Washington D.C. at the age of 36. She was born on May 12, 1978 in Springfield, Massachusetts. Elizabeth graduated from Monson Junior Senior High School and went on to receive a BA from Skidmore College and a Ph.D. in Public Health from Johns Hopkins University. Upon completion of her doctorate, she joined Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) as a Program Officer.
Elizabeth leaves her beloved husband, Erlend Nier, her parents, Margaret Harrison and Edward Harrison, sisters Cheryl and her husband William, Heather and her husband Jon, Holly, Melissa, and Rebecca, nieces and nephews Patrick and his wife Kerry, Brittany, Jeremy, Jacob, Benji, and Emma, and grand niece Lyla, as well as many loving relatives and friends.
Visiting hours will be held Monday, October 20, 2013 from 4-6pm in Lombard Funeral Home 3 Bridge St. Monson, MA. A memorial service will be held that evening at 6pm, also in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Elizabeth Harrison Memorial Scholarship Fund through Monson Savings Bank, 146 Main Street, Monson, Massachusetts 01057 or to METAvivor (www.metavivor.org)
