Edwin E. Burgiel
1924-2008
Monson-Edwin E. Burgiel, 83, of Highland Ave, died Friday May 30, 2008 at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield. Born in Ware to the late Ladislaus and Bronislawa (Izryk) Bergiel he was a graduate of Monson High School and a WWII Navy Veteran. Ed was employed at the former Springfield Cast Products and retired in the mid 1970âs from Hooker ball bearing in Springfield. He was a communicant of St. Patrickâs Church in Monson and a member of the Sampson WWII Navy Veterans. His wife, of more than 50 years, Lillian M. Burgiel pre-deceased him in January of this year. He leaves his sister in-law and brother in-law, Muriel and Bernard Pellissier of Monson; nieces Linda Constantino, Wendy Shakoor, Kim Reed, Louise Droz, Theresa Viola, Cindy Vandermause, and Kathy Wilcox; nephews John Boulos, James Pellissier, George Pellissier and Robert Mullen, many grand nieces and nephews and one great grand niece. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 4, 2008 from Lombard Funeral Home at 9:15am with Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10am in St. Patrickâs Church and burial at Bethany Cemetery all in Monson. Visiting hours will be held Tuesday, June 3, 2008 from 6-8pm at the funeral home.
