Edward "Ted" Pease

Bristol, PA/Monson, MA-Edward Huntington Pease, known to friends and family as Ted, passed away on March 31, 2025, at his home in Bristol, Pennsylvania with his loving wife, Pho Lian Tan at his side. He was 78 years old.

Born in Springfield, Massachusetts, on January 11, 1947, Ted's life was defined by his unwavering devotion to his family, friends, and career. He was the beloved son of the late Winfield Myron and Dorothy Huntington Pease and brother to the late Barbara Pease, who died in infancy. Ted was a dedicated husband to his wife, Pho Lian Tan, whom he married in 2014. He was a loving father to his daughter, Jennifer Anne Cobat of Brentwood, Tennessee, father-in-law to Brian Cobat, proud grandfather to his many grandchildren, and former husband to Joanne Vaughan Pease. Ted also leaves behind a cherished first cousin Helen Huntington Porter of Concord, New Hampshire.

Ted’s early years in West Springfield, Massachusetts, shaped his lifelong pursuit of excellence. A standout student and leader, he achieved the rank of Eagle Scout and earned the prestigious God and Country Award, the rarely bestowed Vigil Member honor of the Order of the Arrow, and a National Merit Scholarship. He later graduated from the University of Massachusetts Amherst with both a BS and MS in Industrial Engineering.

Ted’s professional career began in 1970 at Becton Dickinson in Sumter, South Carolina, where he took on the role of “employee #8” as an industrial engineer. Over the next few decades, Ted made a profound impact in the manufacturing and operations fields, holding leadership roles at Millipore Sigma, Ventrex Labs, Sepracor, West Pharmaceutical Services, among others. In 2005, he joined ManageAssist in Hazlet, New Jersey, where he served as an instructor, Director of Training, and General Manager. Ted retired from ManageAssist in 2023, leaving behind a legacy of mentorship, leadership, and an unwavering commitment to his team.

Ted’s colleagues and friends alike admired him for his storytelling abilities, his genuine caring for others, and his steadfast belief in the potential of those around him. A natural teacher and a compassionate leader, Ted had a rare ability to make everyone feel valued and understood. His influence extended far beyond the workplace, and his presence made each person feel seen and heard. He was the epitome of a "team player"— a constant source of support, encouragement, and inspiration.

Outside of work, Ted was a man of many passions. An avid golfer, cyclist, and sailor, Ted’s adventurous spirit led him to try everything from ziplining to white-water rafting. He loved gathering with friends around his firepit in Bristol or enjoying dinners and concerts with friends and loved ones. Ted’s refined palate and knowledge of wines were unparalleled, and he was known to delight dinner guests with stories of wine regions, derived from his time in California’s wine country.

Ted’s greatest joy, however, was his love of travel. Upon retiring, he dedicated himself to exploring the world. Ted proudly visited every U.S. state and many countries across the globe, including Canada, France, Germany, Japan, Malaysia, and various parts of Southeast Asia. His enthusiasm for discovering new places, immersing himself in different cultures, and sharing these experiences with friends was infectious.

Ted will be remembered not only for his professional accomplishments and adventurous spirit but also for his kindness, generosity, and the love he shared with all who knew him. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of crossing his path.

A celebration of Ted’s life will be held at Faith Baptist Church, 1515 Wistar Road, Fairless Hills, PA on Thursday, April 10, 2025 with visitation at 5:30 PM followed by a memorial service at 6:30 PM. All are welcome to attend and honor a life well lived.

A graveside service and burial will take place at Hillside Cemetery in Monson, MA on Saturday, April 12, 2025 at 9:30 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Appendix Cancer PMP Research Foundation (ACPMP) in the memory of Edward H. Pease.
