Edward V Richards

Monson- Edward V. Richards, 83, passed away suddenly, Monday, October 8, 2018.  Ed was born in Westfield, MA January 20, 1935 to the late Edward A.and Alice A. (Cote) Richards.  He has been a resident in Monson for more than fifty years.  He served in the US Army from 1954-1957 and was Honorably discharged. Ed was a oil burner technician for Squier & Company for many years and upon his semi-retirement he could be seen helping at Beth's Family Dining in Monson.  Ed was active with the Monson Lions Club for many years as well as the American Legion.  He enjoyed fishing, hunting, spending time at the camp, John Wayne Westerns, old war movies, cruising and especially the love of family.

Ed leaves his wife of 58 years, Alicia A. (Wilber) Richards; their daughters, Cheryl M. Larkin and her husband Steven, Elizabeth M. Brown and her husband Robin all of Monson; four grandchildren, Ian Maguire, Wes Maguire, Edward Brown and Steven Larkin; three great grandchildren, Mackenzie Maguire, Cameron Maguire and Connor Maguire; two brothers Donald Richards and his wife Barbara of Ft. Meyers, FL, Albert Richards and his wife Mary of Schenectady, NY.  Edward was predeceased by a brother Michael Richards and sister Evelyn Frost.

Visiting hours will be held Sunday, October 14, 2018 from 1-4pm in Lombard Funeral Home 3 Bridge St. Monson.  Funeral services will be, Monday, October 15, 2018 at 11 am in the funeral home, burial with Military Honors will follow at Bethany Cemetery in Monson.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Lions Clubs International Foundation, Department 4547, Carol Stream, Illinois 60122-4547, in Memory of Edward V. Richards.
