Hampden-Edward L. Hatch, 54, passed away suddenly, February 12, 2017. Ed was born in Gardner, MA, August 24, 1962 to JoAnne M (Ober) Shay and Lawrence W. Hatch. He was a graduate of Minnechaug Regional High School class of 1980, he then continued on at Holyoke Community College and received a bachelor's degree from American International College in Springfield. Ed has been a cost accountant for Hampden Engineering in East Longmeadow for over 25 years. He played in area pitch leagues and bowled in area bowling leagues. He was an avid gardener and raised chickens.
Ed leaves his father Lawerence W. Hatch and his wife, Eva Wiseman; his mother, Joanne Shay; a brother, Carl A. Hatch and his wife Terry all of Hampden; a sister Linda J. Hatch of Palmer; step brother, Donald Wiseman of Southbridge; an uncle, Rollyn Hatch of Port Charlotte, FL; several nieces, nephews, two great nephews and many cousins.
Visiting hours will be held Saturday, March 11, 2017 from 10am-12pm with a memorial service at 12noon in Lombard Funeral Home 3 Bridge St. Monson. Burial will be held in the Spring at Prospect Hill Cemetery in Hampden.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Shriners Hospital, Donations Dept for Springfield, 516 Carew St. Springfield, MA 01104.
