DOUGLAS – Edgar “Buck” George Morin, 91, formerly of Wales, passed away on Monday, January 6, 2025 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born June 26, 1933 to Rouville and Bernadette (LaVallie) Morin in Taftville, CT.

In 1951, Buck enlisted into the armed services and proudly served his country during the Korean Conflict as a Sergeant in the Marine Corps. He was wounded in action in 1952 and was awarded a Purple Heart. Following his honorable discharge from the Service he joined the Laborers’ International Union Local 243. He then worked for Sturbridge Pools before retiring as a Contractor for the Brimfield Siding Company which he co-founded with two of his brothers in-law. He was a member of the Wales Baptist Church, the Farmer’s Market and their Men’s Group. He also was a member of the Wales VFW Post 2596. Buck was a lover of classic Western Movies. He proudly helped his nephew, Brian earn his Boy Scouts of America Eagle Merit Badge.

Buck is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years, Faith G. (Stebbins) Morin, his daughter, Laura Hoenig-McCallum and her husband, Jason of Douglas with whom he lived; 3 sons, Stephan Morin and his wife, Deborah of Brimfield, John Morin and his wife, Deborah of Palmer, and Alan Morin and his wife, Leslie of Monson. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Maverick Hoenig and his wife, Rebekah, Danica McCallum, Rebekah Morin, Kelly Morin, Harrison Morin, Monica Morin and her husband, Robi, and Stephanie Morin and her husband, Vinnie; his great-grandchildren, Bella, Brendan, and Hailee; his siblings, Frederick Morin of Warren, Timothy Morin and his wife, RoseMarie of Wales, Patricia Graham of Warren and Irene Demetrius of Wales, as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his infant son, Daryl Raymond Morin, and his brothers, Roger, James, Andri` and John Morin.

Friends may call at the Lombard Funeral Home, 3 Bridge Street, Monson on Sunday, January 12, 2025 from 1pm to 4pm. Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 13 at 11am at the Wales Baptist Church, 23 Main Street, Wales. Interment will follow in Brimfield Cemetery, 28 Wales Road, Brimfield, MA.
