E Wallace

E. Roland Wallace, 49, of Betterway in Springfield died Saturday, January 31, 2009 after a long illness, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Toronto Canada to Everett L and Carol A (Vacheresse) Wallace he lived in Albany New York before serving with the US Army. Roland then lived in Monson for many years before moving to Springfield. He was employed by Allied Waste in Chicopee since 1986 serving in many capacities from truck driver to power plant manager. Roland was a member of the First Church of Monson, a coach for the Park & Recreation Department for many years and a voter registrar for the Town of Monson. He had a great love for family, friends and animals. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and golf. Roland leaves his family Brenda Wallace, Jack Perry and Gregory Wallace all of Monson. His parents Everett Wallace and his wife Carole of Chicopee, Carol Wallace and her companion Sandy Butch of Enfield, CT; brother Richard Wallace and fiancée Patty Matoon of Agawam; sisters Lea A. Weaver & Partner John Dziato of Springfield, Lori J. Wallace of Springfield and Mari L. Downs & husband Timothy of Georgia, VT and many nieces and nephews. Visiting hours will be Tuesday February 3, 2009 from 4-7pm with a funeral service held at 7pm that evening. Burial will be at the convenience of the family at the Massachusetts Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery.
