Mrs. Doris M. (Kibbe) Manley, of Stafford Road Monson, MA, passed away peacefully into the arms of our Lord, surrounded by her loving family, on Sunday, November 7th, 2010.
Born October 24, 1928 in Stafford, CT, she was the devoted daughter of Raymond E. and Mary E. (Curtin) Kibbe.
Doris was the beloved wife and best friend of Raymond C. Manley. They were married October 8, 1949 and celebrated 61 happy years together. Doris and Ray are the parents of Deborah Ann Bogoff (husband Gary) of Montgomery, MA and Christine Mary Thayer(husband Mark) of Palmer, MA. Doris will be deeply missed by her grandchildren Aja Ramsey, Ariel Bogoff, Benjamin Thayer, Noah Bogoff, and her beloved great granddaughter, Ella Ramsey.
Doris enjoyed a truly happy childhood, growing up on a Hampden, MA dairy farm with her brothers and sisters. She is now reunited with her parents and brothers Raymond Jr., Louis, Neil Robert, Corydon and sister Nancy. She is survived by her sisters Evelyn Canfield and Shirley Downey, and brother Bruce Kibbe.
Doris and Ray raised their family in Monson, enjoying many happy times with family and friends. They shared several activities such as golfing, walking, taking trips to the casino and vacationing at Myrtle Beach. Doris graduated from Technical High School in Springfield and worked for the New England Telephone Company. She was also employed by the Monson Public School System. Mrs. Manley volunteered as a CCD teacher for St. Patrick's Church in Monson and she was also known as a compassionate caregiver to her family.
