Biography
Doreen C. Robbins, 70, died suddenly, Thursday, March 17, 2011. Born in Providence, RI to the late Malcolm R and Marion E. (Smith) Atherton she grew up in Rhode Island and graduated from Rhode Island schools. For many years she lived in the Palmer area and worked at Teterieult Insurance, Palmer House of Jewelry and also Kszepka Insurance Company in Three Rivers. Most recently she moved to Monson. Doreen enjoyed playing cards, bingo and bowling.
She leaves her sons Michael Turenne of South Carolina, Gary Turenne of Putnam, CT, Rick Turenne of Monson and Greg Robbins of Michigan; a brother Jeffery Atherton of Rhode Island and many grandchildren.
Visiting hours will be held Monday, March 21, 2011, from 6-8pm at Lombard Funeral Home, 3 Bridge St. Monson. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Shriners Hospitals for Children 516 Carew St. Springfield, MA 01104.
