Donna M Graveline

West Brookfield-Donna M. (Robert) Graveline, 69, of West Brookfield, MA passed away on August 2, 2024 after a long and spirited battle with ovarian cancer. Donna was born July 9, 1955 in Stafford Springs, CT, to John G. and Patricia (Moriarty) Robert. She graduated from Monson High School in 1973, then went on to study at UMASS Amherst. After earning a master’s in social work from Springfield College, Donna spent 20 years working in the Palmer Public School system as a guidance counselor where she served as a passionate advocate for her students. 

At home, Donna filled many roles and will be warmly remembered as big sister, devoted mother, favorite auntie, singer, hobby farm manager, and cat enthusiast. She most enjoyed music, being at the beach, building her rock wall, handing out Halloween candy, and doting on Jed and Gemma, who enlisted their “DG” as a loving grandparent with her willing and eager consent.

Donna was predeceased by her parents John Sr. and Patricia (Moriarty) Robert, brother John Robert, and nephew Tommy Harrington. Donna is survived by her daughters Amanda Graveline (Jeanne Frey) of Watertown, MA and Yvette Graveline of Redwood City, CA, and by her former husband Marc Graveline (Sharon Coughlin) of Holland, MA. She also leaves 4 siblings, Jackie Santucci of Palmer, Nancy Plant (Ken Hamel) of Belchertown, Tracey Mack (Barry Theodore) of Palmer, and Michael Robert (Karen) of Belchertown. Her chosen extended family Norma Barrett (Patrick) and their 2 children, Jedidiah and Gemma, also survive her.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date this Fall. In lieu of flowers, please make a gift of gratitude to the Gynecological Oncology Department via the Baystate Hospital Health Fund or to Here Today Adopted Tomorrow Cat Sanctuary.
