Donald J Sprowl

Monson-Donald J. Sprowl, 74, passed away at home surrounded by his loved ones, July 6, 2022.  Donald was born in Boston, MA, September 4, 1947 to the late Melvin F. and Marie D (Carmondy) Sprowl.  Don was a graduate of UMass Amherst and received his Masters from Western New England College now University.  Don served four years in the Air Force and then eight years with the Air National Guard. He retired from Mass Mutual as a computer systems analyst in 1999.

Don loved life and spent time traveling, sailing, hiking, shooting and enjoying his beloved Dobermans.  Don was also a teacher and mentor to others.  He was an assistant Boy Scout Troop leader for ten years, part time ski instructor at Wachusett Mountain, substitute teacher, computer instructor at WNEC, weapons instructor in the Air Force and Jr. Rifle instructor at the Nenameseck Sportsmen's Club where he served as vice president. Don was an avid target shooter, garnishing many awards, medals and pins over the years.  His weekly social hour was spent at the gun club playing cribbage with his friends.

Don is survived by his wife Elaine Dill; his brother, Rick Sprowl; brother in-law and wife, Dr. Edward Dill Jr and Carol; his niece and Goddaughter, Valerie;  nephews, Edward, Jean-Noel, Joel Jacques and nieces, Katarina and Ana .
