Monson

Monson-Donald C. Barry, 83, passed away Monday November 18, 2024. Donald was born in Palmer to the late John R. and Albina (Novotny) Barry. He was a graduate of Monson High School and was honorably discharged from the US Army after serving in Vietnam. Don retired from Utility Manufacturing in Wilbraham after many years.

Don was an avid sportsman, enjoying fishing and especially coon hunting. He was a member of the Monadnock Sportsman’s Association in New Hampshire. He also was past president of the Tri County Coon Club for many years. He has also been an avid Trump supporter over the years.

Don leaves his daughters; Tamara Gemme-Crawford of Springfield, Holly Crawford of Monson, Rebecca Barry of Indian Orchard, and Darcy Barry of Monson; daugter in-law, Christine Crawford of Westfield; his longtime girlfriend and devoted companion Maureen “Mort” Cote; grandchildren Joshua McCarthy, Lacey Roy (Ian), Brittany Crawford, Jordan Blanchard (fiancée Holly Lynch), William Crawford III (Elaine), Chelsey Welch (Evan) and Helaynah Barry and five great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends. Donald was predeceased by William Crawford, Susan Gemme-Crawford; a granddaughter Téa Branché and his siblings, Richard Barry, Rosalie Zuraw and Doris Theodore. 

Visiting hours will be held Sunday, November 24, 2024 from 1-3pm in Lombard Funeral Home 3 Bridge St Monson. Military Honors and a Time of Remembrance will be held at 3pm. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St Jude Hospital for Children or Make a wish Foundation.
