Monson-Delia V. Authier, 85, died Friday, August 30, 2013. Born in Monson August 6, 1928, to the late Anthony and Caroline (Tomczyk) Gola she was a Monson High School graduate and a lifelong resident. Delia worked as a clerk for the Monson Police Department and then in the business office of Mass Electric, Dan Wesson Arms and Monson Savings. She was a communicant of St. Patrick's Church. Delia enjoyed nature and was an avid bird watcher.
Delia was pre-deceased by her husband William H. Authier Jr. in 1978; also her brother, John E. Gola and sister, Sophie Dalton. She leaves her brother Alfred Gola of Monson and a sister Bertha Samkin of Wilbraham, as well as nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday September 4, 2013. A visiting hour will be held from 12:30-1:30pm in Lombard Funeral Home 3 Bridge St., with Liturgy of Christian Burial at 2pm in St. Patrick's Church with burial following at Bethany Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Monson Fire Department Ambulance Fund PO Box 335 Monson, MA 01057 or to St. Patrick's Restoration Fund PO Box 473 Monson, MA 01057.
