Debra Kelley died on January 22, 2016 from complications caused by Granulomatosis with Polyangiitis.  In her final years she lived in Belchertown, Massachusetts.

Debra was born in New York City on November 13, 1953.  She grew up on Long Island in Commack, New York.  She graduated from high school in Commack and went on to get a Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy from Stony Brook University.  Debra worked as a secretary at the United Nations and as a secretary at Crane Company.

She moved to Norwalk, Connecticut in 1992 and then to Danbury, Connecticut shortly thereafter.  In Danbury she worked as an adjunct professor at Western Connecticut State University, and raised her son.  She was proud of the work she did as an adjunct professor and kept remnants from the courses she taught.

Debra enjoyed playing the piano, writing poetry, and spending time with her family.  Friends could often see her car parked at the First Church of Monson at night when she was practicing the piano.

She is survived by her mother Gloria, her brother Douglas, her sister Donna, her sister-in-law Suzanne, her ex-husband David, her son Lars, her niece Elizabeth and her nephew Lucien.

There will be a memorial service at the First Church of Monson on Saturday, January 30 at 11 am."
