South Windsor, CT – David E. Plumley, 71, passed away at Hartford Hospital on Tuesday September 10, 2024. David was born on April 7, 1953, in Newport, RI to Earle F. and Jean S. (Irwin) Plumley. He was a graduate of Tantasqua Regional High School, served in the US Navy where he was a Hospital Corpsman, and earned his bachelor's degree in civil engineering.
David worked for nearly 25 years at AI Engineering in Middletown, CT as a senior land surveyor, most recently he had decided to begin to retire. He was very active and enjoyed exploring National Parks, hiking, skiing, camping, golfing and was always ready for a new adventure. David found joy in helping family and friends with projects and enjoyed learning new skills.
David was predeceased by his mother, Jean S. (Irwin) Plumley. He leaves his father, Earle of Wales; and siblings Nancy and husband Timothy Baer of Wales; Margaret and husband Ronald Galipeau of Birdsboro, PA; Judy Truax of Wales; Mary and husband William Sherman of Hyannis; Jane Plumley and Dana Hayward of Corinth, VT; Thomas and his wife Melissa (Cozzens) Plumley of Brimfield; Theresa Langlais of So. Windsor, CT; and many nieces and nephews.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Lombard Funeral Home 3 Bridge St. Monson, MA. A Celebration of Life will be held October 5th, 2024. Gathering of family and friends will begin at 10am with a service in the funeral home at 11am. Burial will be at the family’s convenience.
