Wales- D. Dorothy (Fountain) Gregoire, 98, died Sunday, April 13, 2014 surrounded by her loving family. Born in Warren, February 11, 1916, Dorothy was a longtime resident of Wales. She was a loving wife of 67 years to Edwin F. Gregoire who passed away in 2008. She enjoyed playing cards, crossstich and the RedSox. Dorothy, along with her husband owned and operated Ed's Market in Wales for 20 years. Her love of family was her greatest enjoyment.
Dorothy leaves her daughter Beverly Poirier and her husband Albert with whom she lived.. She was a proud grandmother of three; Robert Poirier and his wife Lori and their children, Tiffany, Erica, Brittany, Robby and Anthony; , Joann Wright and her husband David and their children Abagail and Bethany; Sherri Hoffman and her husband Michael and their children Nicholas and Jeremy. She leaves her "other daughter" Shirley Backofen and her husband Richard of Brimfield. Dorothy was pre-deceased by her husband Edwin and their son Donald Gregoire.
Visiting hours will be held Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at Bethany Charismatic Catholic Church, 167 Dunhamtown-Brimfield Rd in Brimfield from 10-11am with a funeral service at 11am and burial to follow at St. Paul Cemetery in Warren. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Bethany Charismatic Catholic Church PO Box 607 Palmer, MA 01069.
