Biography

Monson- Corinne Ann "Cookie" (Storozuk) Goncalves, 61, died May 13, 2012 from complications due to an illness she had been fighting. She is predeceased by her parents Erline and Angelo Buttieri and her brothers Francis and William Storozuk. Cookie was a doting Mother, Grandmother, Wife and friend. She is survived by her husband Venancio Goncalves; two daughters Kimberly Brodeur and her husband Ray of Enfield, CT and Emily Goncalves of Monson. Her brothers Kenneth Storozuk and his wife Janet of Agawam, Joseph Storozuk of Palmer, David Storozuk and his wife Cathy of Enfield, CT; two sister in-laws Susan Storozuk of Holyoke and Cynthia Storozuk of Enfield, CT and her Aunt Beverly Rivers of Monson. Cookie also leaves her three grandchildren who meant the world to her, Brianna Parker of Springfield, Matthew and Eva Brodeur of Enfield, CT. She also leaves many nephews, nieces, cousins, co-workers and her best friend Carrie Dean of Monson.

Corinne worked as a secretary at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield for over 25 years. After her retirement she continued to work part-time in the Baystate Medical Center Gift Shop. She was a member of the First Church of Monson where she was a Sunday School teacher and a member of the Hearts Willing Committee. Cookie bowled every year for the Childrens Miracle Network. She loved to cook and bake for church suppers and her family. She enjoyed vacationing in Maine and spending time at the beach, especially Old Orchard Beach. People will remember Corinne best for her cranky disposition, and un-ending acts of kindness and generosity.

Visiting hours will be held Monday, May 21, 2012 from 5-8pm at Lombard Funeral Home 3 Bridge St. Monson, MA 01057. Funeral services will take place Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at 10am in First Church of Monson, Congregational, 3 High St. Monson, MA. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers Memorial Contributions may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children 516 Carew St. Springfield, MA 01104.
