Colleen Iris (Nichols) Warnock

May 30, 1927 — August 13, 2016

Monson-Colleen Iris (Nichols) Warnock (89) passed away suddenly at Baystate Wing Hospital, Palmer MA on August 13, 2016.  Born in Monson on May 30, 1927 she was the daughter of the late John (Jack) and Josephine (Verlotta) Nichols.  She lived in Monson all her life, educated at Monson Schools and a graduate of Monson High School. Colleen worked for many years in the dietary department at the former Monson Developmental Center, retiring in the early 90’s.  She had a devoted love for animals and was a caring and giving person to others, with a big heart and was well liked by many.  During her retirement years you would find her volunteering at the Monson Senior Center and  the Quarry Hill Elementary School, and for many years and generations she had many pen pals.

She will be deeply missed by her son, Alan Robert Warnock and his longtime companion Dianne Cusson of Monson, her daughter, Colleen Diane Littlefield and husband Ray of Springfield, Grandchildren Alan Warnock Jr, and Michael Chechile, her siblings John Nichols and Anthony Nichols, Marie Holmberg, Dolores Potts, and Arlene Cherry, and Uncle Carmen ”Louie” Verlotta as well as many nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her sisters, Beverly Smith and Betty Madelle.


Services for Colleen will be held on Friday August 19, 2016 at Lombard Funeral Home 3 Bridge St. Monson, with calling hours from 9-11 am followed by a service at 11am with Pastor Ira Cameron as officiate with burial to follow at Bethany Cemetery in Monson.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Colleen’s name may be made to the animal rescue league of choice.
