Wales- Clarence D. Brown, Jr., 81, of Monson Road, died Thursday, December 31, 2009. Born January 26, 1928 in Belfast, Maine to the late Clarence D. and Zadie (Farrow) Brown Sr, he was a graduate of Monson High School and a longtime area resident. Clarence was a sales associate for Anderson Little in Chicopee for over 30 years. He attended First Church of Monson in his younger years and he was a member of the Day Spring Lodge where he was a 32nd degree Mason and a member of the Melha Shriner's in Springfield. Clarence was also a member of the Quaboag Riders Association and was a flag man for their events. He also enjoyed camping and snowmobiling.
Clarence was predeceased by his first wife Nancy P. (Morgan) Brown in 1988, his second wife Lois T. (Razzaboni) Brown in 2007 and his son William J. Brown in 2009. He leaves a daughter Cheryl B. Murray of Holland; daughter in-law Christine L. Brown of Wales; step sons Joseph Donahue and his wife Ann of Raieigh, North Carolina, Michael Donahue and his wife Charlotte of Belchertown and Robert Donahue of Easthampton; a step daughter Sheri Ann Brault and her husband Joseph of Chicopee; a sister Audrey Dupnt of Estero, FL and five grandchildren, Allison and Mackenzie Murray of Holland and David, Derick and Taylor Brown of Wales and eleven step grandchildren. Clarence was also predeceased by a sister Norma Nolan.
Services will be held Sunday, January 10, 2010 at Lombard Funeral Home. Visiting hours will be from 1-3pm and a Masonic Evergreen Service followed by a Memorial service will begin at 3pm. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Shriners Hospital 516 Carew St. Springfield or to the Alzheimer's Association, Western Mass Office 264 Cottage St. Springfield, MA 01104.
