Monson-Cecelia “Ceceâ€? M. Colling, 54, of Ely Road, died Sunday, February 15, 2009 surrounded by the love of her family. Born in Oakland, California to the late Patrick and Julia (McGovern) McGoldrick, she was raised in Pinole California and has been a resident of Monson for 30 years. Cece was a graduate of Westfield State College and was an elementary teacher at West Brookfield Elementary School for the last 16 years, most recently teaching first grade. She was a frequent volunteer in the Monson School System, a former GED tutor at Top Floor Learning in Palmer, and a platelet donor for the American Red Cross. She was on the Monson School Council, Board of Directors for the Monson Library, Board of Directors for the Keep Homestead Museum and a member of the Monson Garden Club. Cece also enjoyed gardening and ballroom dancing. She leaves her husband of 32 years, Arthur K. Colling Jr. and their children Brendan P. Colling of Astoria, New York, Erin J. Colling of San Francisco, CA, Meaghan E. Colling of Monson and Caitlin A. Colling of Brookline, MA; two brothers Mike McGoldrick of Lafayette, CA, Terry McGoldrick of Makawaho, Maui, HI and a sister Patty McGoldrick of Pinole, CA. Visiting hours will be Thursday, February 19th, from 2-4 and 7-9 at Lombard Funeral Home 3 Bridge St. Monson. Funeral services will be Friday, February 20th, beginning at 10am from Lombard Funeral Home with Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11am in St. Patrick’s Church and burial at Bethany Cemetery, all in Monson. Memorial donations may be made to Dana Farber Cancer Institute 10 Brookline Place West, 6th Floor, Brookline, MA 02445-7226, ATTN: Contribution Services.
