Palmer-Bruce M. Gaskell, 51, passed away August 17, 2024 after a tragic accident.
Bruce was born July 29, 1973 in Hartford, CT to Elizabeth A. Lewandowski. He was a graduate from Tantasqua High School class of 1991 in Sturbridge. Bruce was an incredibly skilled contractor and an all around handy man. But most importantly, Bruce was an amazing man, a loving father, and a devoted friend. Whether you needed a couple bucks to get you through the week, someone to vent to, your roof is caving in, or your car won’t start, he was there. He never asked for anything in return, he was just happy to be the one you called. Bruce loved his family with everything he had, and there is no doubt in their minds about that. The only thing that could compete with his love for his family was his love of riding motorcycles. Bruce was born to race and damn, was he good at it. From raising his kids at the Monson hill climbs, to traveling cross-country to ride or just being happy he could “race the old fart class”, riding is who he was. If you were lucky enough to know Bruce you know he could talk, man could he talk, but he never left his home without making a friend, and he never went a day without a story to tell.
Bruce has now left his family to tell his story and to pass down the beautiful memories he created with them.
Bruce will be forever missed by his mother, Elizabeth "Betty" Glidden of Palmer; his children, Aliyah Gaskell of Springfield and Gavin Racicot of Brimfield; his granddaughters Macie and Cali Demetrius; his sister Becky Shea and her husband Timothy and their son, his buddy and nephew, Brennan Shea all of Ware; and his brother, Jeremy Gaskell of CT. Bruce has now been reunited with the love of his life, Angela Racicot who passed in 2021.
