West Warren- Bonnie P. Bradway (Griswold, Matos) 73, arrived in heaven on Monday, October 22, 2018 after being surrounded by the love of family. Bonnie was born in Stafford Springs, CT, August 31, 1945 to the late Ellsworth H. and Mary (Norcross) Bradway. Bonnie grew up in Wales and raised her family there. She moved to Florida then returned to Palmer for several years. While in Florida she enjoyed working at Florida Hospital with Emergency Room intake with a wonderful team of doctors and nurses. Bonnie was one of the founders of the Wales Council on Aging. She was involved with the Greater Springfield Senior Services hot lunch program and was active with the home health services in Wales, Brimfield and Holland years ago. Bonnie’s current passion was sewing quilts, making cathedral window pillows, and potholders or crafts simply to bring a smile to others. She enjoyed using humor to lighten the load and always lent a hand to those in need. Those who knew her best knew her as Ooh-Hoo!
Bonnie leaves her daughter with whom she lived; Sherry Lynn Storey and husband John of West Warren; a brother Charles E. Bradway of Brimfield; Grandchildren Johnny Storey III (and Kassie) of Palmer, Amanda Chalue (and Matthew) of Wales, Elyse (Gabby) Russell of Missouri, Daemon Lane and Haley Lane of Indiana; an adopted granddaughter Sabrina; Great-grandchildren; Dominic, Cameron and Nathan of Palmer, Kayden, Mason, & Christopher of Wales; Great Great-granddaughter Aubree Grace McConnell of Indiana; several cousins including Judy, nieces including Susie, Jan, Missy, Desiree, Samantha, Shauna, Michelle, Pamela, Kim, Michele & Karen; nephews including Daniel, Timmy, Donald, Shane, Daren, Andrew, Paul, David, Andy & Chris; a sister-in-law Louise; and a beautiful, special, unforgettable friend; Ms. Rose Arventos.
Bonnie was predeceased by her brother Chester H. Bradway in 1952, her grandson Gregory D. Russell in 1990; her daughter Tracey L. Lane in 2010; her great grandson Baby J in 2011; her sister, Dorothy L. Bliss in 2014; a grandson Bradley A. Budlong in 2015 and her brother Donald R. Bradway in 2017.
The family would like to thank Mamie, Lucy and Melissa from Baystate Hospice for their care and compassion; although the timeframe was brief their impact was unmeasurable.
Those wishing to make a memorial contribution can simply help someone in need; perhaps with a prayer, a meal or by checking in on a friend or family member.
