Biography

Monson-Betty Ann (Freeman) Bouchard, 80, died Friday, February 21, 2014. Born in Monson February 18, 1934 to the late Seymour and Eva (Blodgett) Freeman. She liked to try to shock people by telling them she and her brother were born on the poor farm. Actually this referred to the Monson Town Infirmary where her parents were co-managers. She attended schools in Monson and later worked as a waitress in Palmer and in the kitchen at Wing Memorial Hospital. In her later years she worked as a clerk at the Monson Senior Center and after she retired she continued as a volunteer. She was active on several local committees among them, SALT, Monson Summerfest and Monson Democratic Town Committee. She was a past president of the Unitarian Universalist Parish of Monson.

She was married to the late Russell Bouchard on July 4, 1964 until his death in 1994. She was also pre-deceased by her brother "Buck" Freeman and her sister Alice Meurisse. She leaves a daughter Lisa Bouchard of Three Rivers; three grandchildren Bobby Plattner of Phoenix, AZ, Tommy Plattner of New York City, and Debra Picard of Springfield; two great grandchildren; her brother, Bob Freeman and his partner Joe Frigenti of New York City and Monson; her former son in-law Rob Plattner of Dundee, NY and several nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be held Friday, February 28, 2014 from 4-7pm in Lombard Funeral Home 3 Bridge St Monson. A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 1st at 11am in the Unitarian Universalist Parish 177 Main, Monson. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
