Bessie Sherman

Bessie M. Sherman, died March 18, 2011, two weeks before her 101st birthday. Born in Hampden, MA to the late Howard C. and Julia E. (Warner) Chapin, Bessie was a longtime resident of Wales before moving to Orchard Valley in Wilbraham when she was 97. She worked on her father's farm and later at Peerless Laundry and C.F.Church Co. of Monson, also for Mary Lyon Nursing and Rehab. Center as well as for the Ware River News and Turley Publications in Palmer.
Mrs. Sherman was predeceased by her husband, Cecil E. Sherman in 1985. She leaves her two daughters Judith Kenyon and her husband Roger of Crossville, TN and Doris M. King of Three Rivers; four grandchildren, Sam King and Clinton King of Wales, Roxanne Galica of Amherst, NH and Melanie Kent and her husband Dana of Ware, MA; two great grandchildren Alexie Galica-Cohen of Mont Vernon, NH and Matthew Kent of Ware; and a nephew Earle Chisholm of Wales.
Visiting hours will be held Tuesday, March 22, 2011 from 5-8 pm at Lombard Funeral Home, 3 Bridge St. Monson. Mrs. Sherman's Funeral and Burial will be private.
