Biography

Monson-Bertha A. (Norman) Huse, 92, died Monday, December 2, 2013. Born July 1, 1921 in East Longmeadow to the late Victor and Amanda (Petterson) Norman, she had been a resident of Monson for many years. Bertha was a graduate of Commerce High School in Springfield and worked for many years as a bookkeeper at Springfield Foundry and Springfield Cast Products. During WWII she worked at the Springfield Armory. Bertha was a member of the First Church of Monson, Congregational. She was active in the Mr. and Mrs. Club and the Hearts Willing.



Mrs. Huse was predeceased by her husband Edward W. Huse Jr. in 1987. She leaves her children, John E. Huse and his wife Mary of Spencer, Carol Weber and her husband Russel of Spartenburg, SC, Gail Wright and her husband Timothy of Hampden and Nancy Slozak and her husband Michael of Monson; seven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. Bertha was predeceased by her four sisters, Elsie Carlson, Doris Norman, Helen Andersson and Anna Gulbranson.



Visiting hours will be held Thursday, December 5, 2013 from 6-8pm at Lombard Funeral Home 3 Bridge St. Monson. A Funeral service will be held Friday, December 6, 2013 at 10am in Lombard Funeral Home, burial will follow at Hillcrest Park Cemetery in Springfield. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to The First Church of Monson, Congregational 5 High Street, Monson, MA 01057.
