On January 20, 2022 our Mom, Aurore Kowil, was called to her eternal loving peace with our Lord. Born March 6, 1926, she was one of seven children of Arthur and Rose (Demers) Lantaigne. She grew up, and attended schools in the Springfield area. While actively working, she met her love and married Samuel Kowil in 1956. They raised two daughters while working and maintaining a family bond of love and integrity. In 1972, they purchased what is now known as Fairview Deli in Chicopee, Mass. It is here the entire family worked tirelessly to build an establishment that became renowned as one of the top eateries in Chicopee. Customers became friends and memories could fill a book of the family business that thrived and continued until Sam’s passing in 2000. Mom carried on the legacy of family love while maintaining their home until her transition to the Vero Wellness Center in Wilbraham, MA. She touched many lives with her kind heart, open generosity and unfailing love of her family. She is survived by her daughters, Joanne Stacey of Vero Beach, FL and Nancy Gardell and her husband Jeffery of Monson, MA; and her granddaughter, Amanda Gardell of Monson, MA. She also leaves many nieces and nephews that encompass this loving family along with roommate Emily whose presence and love was a gift. A heartfelt and sincere thank you to the wonderful nurses, LPN’s and caretakers of the Wilbraham Vero Rehab Center. Your unselfish giving, kindness and genuine care will live forever in our hearts. A private celebration of life will be held in the Spring of 2022.
