Anthony L Pikul

Monson

Monson- Anthony L. Pikul, 75, passed away Saturday, September 2, 2023, surrounded by love of family.  Tony was born in Palmer, MA to the late Martin W. and Helen I. (Ackley) Pikul. He was a graduate of Monson Academy where he excelled in athletics, serving as captain on the baseball, soccer, and wrestling teams. He loved sports and could quote statistics of any team or player.  He played softball for years on teams such as the Monson Inn and the Glass Krutch. He loved to travel visiting many islands and countries.  His favorite adventure was his trip to Alaska and his trip to England to see the Red Sox vs Yankees. Tony was a route driver for State Line Potato Chip Company and worked there for over 30 years while also owning Tee Jay's at the American Legion for 30 years retiring in 2019.  He hosted many benefits for local community projects and supported local organizations.  He was very proud of his years of rescuing greyhounds to give them a loving home. He has rescued 10 greyhounds over the years.

Tony leaves his wife of 54 years, Joyce A. (Butcher) Pikul; their daughters, Kimberly J. Sommers of New Hampshire, Kelly J. Simpkiss and her husband Joseph of Palmer, Kristen O'Conner and her husband Jeffrey of Wilbraham; a brother, Roger Pikul and his wife Donna of Monson; a sister, Laura George and her husband Jonathan of Shelburne Falls; grandchildren, Hunter and Shea Simpkiss, Evan and Lilly O'Connor and many nieces and nephews. Anthony was predeceased by his grandson, Tanner Simpkiss and brothers, Martin Pikul and David Pikul.

Services have been entrusted to Lombard Funeral Home of Monson.  Visiting hours will be held Friday, September 8, 2023 from 4-6pm at the funeral home,  Burial will be private.
