Biography

Anita C. (Malo) Shunaman, 86, of Masonic Hill Rd., and a longtime resident of Palmer died Sunday January 16, 2011. Born October 12, 1924 in Ware, MA to the late Louis and Bertha (Brunelle) Malo she grew up in Monson and was a graduate of Monson High School. Anita worked at CF Church Co. in Monson until 1968 and then she partnered with her husband and operated Double A Plastics in Monson for many years. Anita was a resident of Palmer for many years and was a communicant of St. Thomas Church.

Anita was predeceased by her husband Albert W. Shunaman in 2003. She leaves her brother Joseph Henry Malo and his wife Patricia of Stafford, CT; her sister Jean Portier of Brimfield/Charlton, MA; her step-daughter and caregiver Carole Clark and her husband Raymond Mike Clark of Southbridge; step-son, Ronald Shunaman and his wife Gail of Chicopee; nine step grandchildren and nine step great-grandchildren. Anita was pre-deceased by her brothers Rene, Norman, Fred, and Albert Malo and her sisters Jeanette Malo and Lorraine Tucker.

Funeral services will be Friday, January 21, 2011, beginning from Lombard Funeral Home 3 Bridge St. in Monson at 9am. Liturgy of Christian Burial will be at 10am in St. Patrick's Church, 22 Green St. in Monson with burial to follow at Bethany Cemetery also in Monson. Visiting hours will be held Thursday January 20, 2011 from 4-7pm. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Vincent DePaul Society c/o Notre Dame Parish Marcy Street Southbridge, MA 01550.
