Monson- Alfred L. LaBaff, Jr., 92, died Friday January 12, 2018 surrounded by the love of family less than a week before his 93rd birthday. Alfred was born in Springfield January 17, 1925 to the late Alfred L. LaBaff, Sr. and Verdie Ann (Demarais) LaBaff. Alfred served in the US Coast Guard during WWII. He was a dental lab technician in Springfield for many years before his retirement. Alfred along with his wife Shirley were lifelong members of the Springfield Turnverein Club. He lived in Springfield for many years before moving to Monson to be with family.
Alfred was predeceased by his wife, Shirley I (Beaman) LaBaff. He leaves a son, Lawerence A. LaBaff of Springfield; a daughter, Verdi Vadnais and her husband Jack of Monson; two grandchildren, Jean-Paul Vadnais and Aimee Kurtzhalts and her husband Michael; three great grandchildren MJ and Constance Kurtzhalts and Kenna Marie Vadnais. Alfred was predeceased by his sister Beatrice Mousaw.
Funeral services will be held Friday, January 19, 2018 with Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10am in St. Patrick's Church 22 Green St. Monson and Committal Services at 2pm at the Massachusetts Veteran's Memorial Cemetery in Agawam.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Memorial Processing, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
