Alberta B. Hodge
1921-2008
Monson-Alberta B. (Talmadge) Hodge, 86, of Palmer Road died Friday August 8, 2008 at her home. Born in Warren to the late George and Miriam (Patrick) Talmadge she has been a longtime resident of Monson. Alberta was a graduate of Monson High School and worked at Jarvis and Jarvis in Palmer for many years before retiring in 1985. She was a member of the first Church of Monson, Congregational. Alberta assisted with the church Messenger monthly and was an interim treasurer at the church, a position that her husband held before he died. She also was a member of the Quaboag Rebekah Lodge #169 and a former secretary of the Monson Senior Club. For many years she volunteered at the Wing Memorial Hospital gift shop and also coordinated the volunteers for the gift shop. She has been a part of the Weight Watchers program since 1978. The closeness of friends and family meant the world to her. She was predeceased by her husband Russell L. Hodge in 1986. She leaves her daughter Susan M. Dominick and her husband Bill who was like a son to Alberta of Monson; and daughter Georgia London of Bondsville and her companion Paul Turek of West Springfield. She also leaves two grandsons who lovingly called her âBirdâ? Jason Dominick and fiancée Tamara Damarigian who will be married in September of 2008 of Wilbraham and Cameron Dominick and his wife Sarah of Jamaica Plain, MA who will be expecting their first child in February; and her cat Jasper. She is predeceased by her brother John Talmadge and sister Carolyn Duggan. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10am in Lombard Funeral Home 3 Bridge St. Monson with burial at Hillside Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held Tuesday from 5-8pm at the funeral home.
