Alan B. Folger

1943-2008

Brimfield-Alan B. Folger, 64, of Wales Rd. died suddenly, Thursday, October 9, 2008. Born in Augusta, Maine to the late Arthur C. and Patricia (Stratton) Folger he has been a longtime resident here. For many years he worked at the former Ames Packing in West Springfield, then the former Kimbills & Co. in East Longmeadow and he retired from Walmart in 2005 after ten years of service. Alan enjoyed hunting and fishing and a good time with so many of his friends. He leaves his loving wife of 20 years Nadia (Afanasiew) Folger and a daughter Vicki Staback of Monson, a step-son Paul Morin of West Springfield, a step daughter Marie Messeier of Palmer, a granddaughter, two step grandchildren and two great granddaughters. He also leaves his brother Roy Provost of Monson and a sister Melody Hill of Monson. He was predeceased by a brother Arthur C. Folger in 2002. Visiting hours will be held Sunday, October 12,2008 from 2-5pm at Lombard Funeral Home in Monson. A funeral service will be held Sunday at the conclusion of the visiting hours at 5pm in the funeral home. Burial will be Saturday, October 18, 2008 at 11am in Holland Cemetery in Holland, MA. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association 54C Wayside Ave West Springfield, MA 01089.
