Aime T Gaudette

Monson – Aime T. Gaudette, 94, of High Street, Monson died Sunday, September 10, 2017. Born in Palmer on December 4, 1922 to the late Arthur and Noella (Paul) Gaudette, married the late Virginia R. (Santucci) Gaudette and became the proud father of five children, 10 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Aime served in the U.S. Navy as a gunner’s mate on the USS Boise in WWII. He worked many jobs during his years and most recently at Friendly Ice Cream in Wilbraham until his retirement at age 65. During his retirement, Aime enjoyed playing golf, playing penny slots at the casino, watching polka dancing and westerns on TV and playing with his grandchildren/great grandchildren. He loved playing cribbage, telling funny jokes and making people laugh. Aime’s special talent was his incredible harmonica playing. He enjoyed gifting local children toy harmonicas to teach them the love of playing this simple instrument that helped him bring so much joy to young and old.

Aime was predeceased by his loving wife of 64 years, Virginia R. (Santucci) Gaudette, son George A. Gaudette, and all 10 of his siblings. He leaves his daughter-in-law Kathryn Gaudette of Wimauma, FL.; daughters, Denise Bird of Ocala, FL, Donna Furlong of North Reading, Joanne Keller and her husband Robert Spencer of Umatilla, FL, and Janine Anderson of Palmer; grandchildren, Jesse (Amanda) Gaudette of St. Petersburg, FL, Sarah Gaudette (Andrew Coulter) of Bradenton, FL, Susan Bird of Arvada, CO, Cynthia (Peter) Ouellette of Plantsville, CT, Christopher (Tammy) Furlong of Attleboro , Karen Furlong of Salem, Alycia (John) Harvey of Weirsdale, FL, Justine Keller of Umatilla, FL; Jeffrey Anderson & Nicole Anderson of Palmer; great grandchildren Sariya Dodge, Autumn Harvey, Olivia & Aiden Ouellette, Gwenyth Furlong, Evelyn Gaudette, and Madelyn Coulter.  He also leaves behind several nieces and nephews.
